If you track stock by hand, you already know this

  • You sold what you didn't have

    The spreadsheet said 4. Shopee had already sold 5. The refund is the cheap part — the cancellation drags down your seller rating, and your rating is what was driving the sales.

  • You edit the same number twice

    Stock changes, so you open the seller centre, then the spreadsheet, then the seller centre again. Within hours the numbers have drifted apart anyway.

  • You find out you're out when a buyer tells you

    Nothing warns you that a fast mover is nearly gone. You notice when there is nothing left to pack.
